This Grove UV Sensor module is used for detecting the intensity of incident ultraviolet (UV) radiation. This form of electromagnetic radiation has shorter wavelengths than visible radiation and is therefore detected on our UV sensor. It is based on the GUVA-S12D sensor, has a wide spectral range of 200nm-400nm and will output an electrical signal which is varied with the change of the UV intensity. UV sensors are used for determining exposure to ultraviolet radiation in laboratory or environmental settings, but don't limit yourselves to just these things! Be creative.

UV sensors are popular amongst many different projects and can be used numerous applications. UV sensors are used in pharmaceuticals, automobiles, robotics or even in the printing industry (solvent handling / dyeing process.
